Furniture RePurposing

Our 4 - Step Responsible Disposal Process

At AFS, we're committed to minimising waste and maximising the life of your business assets. We repurpose usable furniture into new fitouts, but we also explore other avenues of keeping items out of landfill. This is our approach to responsible disposal:

  • Sell

We first assess the condition of your furniture to determine its resale value. Items that are still in good condition are sold, giving them a second life and reducing waste. This not only benefits the environment but also provides an opportunity to recoup some of the initial investment.

  • Donate

For items that cannot be sold but are still usable, we partner with organisations like Habitat for Humanity Victoria. We provide access to materials such as carpet tiles, furniture, and fixtures that can be utilised by the Habitat for Humanity Victoria team to support their important mission. By repurposing these materials for Habitat projects and fundraising, we aim to reduce waste from our operations. This partnership is an impactful way for us to give back while aligning with our sustainability values. We love the work Habitat Victoria does to empower families and provide strength, stability, and independence through shelter. Learn more about their great work here.

  • Recycle

Furniture that cannot be sold or donated is carefully disassembled, and recyclable materials are separated. We work with certified recycling partners to ensure that metals, plastics, and other materials are recycled properly, minimising landfill waste and supporting a circular economy.

  • Dispose

As a last resort, any remaining materials that cannot be sold, donated, or recycled are disposed of responsibly. We adhere to all local regulations and environmental standards to ensure that disposal has the least possible impact on the environment.

By following this framework, we ensure that your business assets are handled with care and have the least possible impact on the environment
